For the accompanying examples to work a few steps have to be taken first.
First download the examples and documentation
Un-tar-gz the file somewhere where it can be reached via Apache (installed earlier.)
e.g. public_html in your home directory.
The package will unpack into an mr2mysql_doc directory.
Point your browser to that directory (e.g. http://localhost/~loginname/mr2mysql_doc/)
The example PHP scripts need a database that has some data in it in order to do their work
If you completed the previous steps correctly your browser should now display a page
containing (amongst other things) a link called 'Importing the database used for the examples'
Click on this link and choose the 'test_mr2mysql' database.
The suggested name (the same) is OK, so press the 'import' button.
After a few seconds (depending on the speed of your computer) a new page should appear
with lots of green tables showing the tables from the database and the structure of the tables.
The links to the examples should now work.
